McGill Ultimate Team

About

McGill Ultimate Team is a self-funded SSMU (Students’ Society of McGill University) club consisting of four competing ultimate teams affiliated with the university: men’s A and B, and women’s A and B. The A teams are nationally competitive and made up mostly of players with several years of ultimate experience, while the B teams are made up of players with less experience or those who would prefer a less competitive atmosphere. All members become part of a tight-knit community that hosts several events throughout the year, including an end-of-season banquet to recognize the hard work and achievement of our members.

Tryouts

Tryouts are held every year in late August or early September to determine team rosters for the year. There are two sessions of tryouts open to everyone, to be held on August 27, 2018 from 5:30pm - 8:00pm and August 28, 2018 from 7:00pm - 9:30pm at Molson Stadium. To sign up for tryouts, please fill out this form.

Practice

Teams usually practice between 4 and 6 hours per week in September and October at Rutherford Field and Jeanne Mance Field. In past years, A teams would practice from 9pm - 11pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while B team practices were more variable. There is also a fitness session held every week in the Tomlinson Field House that is open to members of all teams.

Tournaments

All four teams afilliated with the McGill Ultimate Team compete in provincial and national tournaments. The A teams will attend all tournaments, and the B teams will usually attend as well, depending on numbers and interest. The Fall tournaments we compete in are CQUUC, CEUUC, and CUUC. In the Spring, the A teams hope to compete in the USAU series as a division III team in the New England region.
